Maintenance Plan

Mission

The mission of the Irish Beach Improvement Club Maintenance Committee is to develop and maintain
the common areas in a manner that demonstrates pride of ownership and provides a high level of
usefulness and enjoyment for the benefit of Irish Beach members.

Goals

1) Keep the parks, lake, beach road, trails, and fence areas well groomed.
2) Maximize the usefulness of Gazebo Park, Pomo Lake Park and beach.

3) Maximize the usefulness and appeal of walking trails.
4) Keep the beach road manageable and safe.

Duties & Responsibilities

1) Mowing.
2) Tree Trimming.
3) Brush Clearing.
4) Painting & repairing equipment & fixtures.
5) Keeping trails and roads clear.
6) Keeping porta-potties clean & serviced.
7) Keeping beach road in good repair.
8) Collect garbage for weekly pickup.
9) Maintain gate.
10) Remove weeds from the lake.
11) Repair fence.
12) Obtain permit to disperse chemicals in lake.
13) Stock lake with trout.

Objectives/Programs

Goal (1) Keep common areas well groomed. (Annual cost $12,000.00)

1) Mow at least two times a year.
2) Clear brush & trim trees once a year.
3) Paint & repair furniture and fixtures as needed.
4) Transport garbage from beach to Gazebo Park pick-up area.
5) Keep logs and debris cleared from the beach road and the beach parking lot.
6) Control the weeds at the lake..
7) Keep porta-potties clean and serviced.
8) Repair fence as needed.

Objectives/Programs

Goal (2) Maximize the usefulness of parks.

Gazebo Park. (Est Cost $2,000.00*)

1) Place the porta-potty in a more accessible area.
2) Level the entrance to the park.
3) Put base rock at the park entrance.
4) Remove the large tree at the North East corner of the park.

Pomo Lake. (Est Cost $20,000.00+*)

1) Expand & level the picnic area.
2) Remove some fire pits and trees.
3) Build a pavilion that will hold 60 people, with a solid floor and roof.
4) Landscape.
5) Add horseshoe pits
6) Relocate playground equipment.
7) Establish parking.
8) Provide a porta-potty

Goal (3) Maximize the appeal & usefulness of trails. (Est Cost $1,000.00*)

1) Extend the trail from the lake to Highway 1.
2) Place a walkway from the trail, through the fence, to Irish Beach Drive.
3) Add benches along the trail.
4) Landscape.

Goal (4) Keep the beach road manageable & safe. (Est Cost $35,000.00*)

1) Resurface the down road.
2) Seek advice from an engineer.
3) Shore up embankments.
4) Plant vegetation to minimize erosion. *one time cost
