Pomo Lake
Requests for proposals from biological consultants to develop a plan to save
Pomo Lake have been made. Deadline for
submittal is March 5, 2010.
An
ad hoc committee of board members and IBIC members will review the proposals
and make a recommendation as to what proposal should be accepted by the
Board.
The
United States Department of Fish and Wildlife has been requested to conduct a
study in order to determine if the Red Legged Frog is residing in the lake. (The
frog is on the federal wildlife endangered species list.) The Department will
make a second visit to the lake during the week of March 9th. The inspection will take place after dusk.
Groups
There has been community interest in forming an email group which would share
information among its members. Questions such as to good roofers, builders,
architects, removal of ticks from pets, where's the best pizza, etc would be
posted and the members would provide their thoughts on the topic. An Irish
Beach Improvement Club sponsored Yahoo group called IRISHBEACH has been
formed to enable the community to pool its knowledge on any topic.
To access and contribute to this database, it is necessary to become a
member. The task is simple. Go to WWW.YAHOO.COM. On the left side of the home
page, select GROUPS. A new screen will appear. In the search box, enter
IRISHBEACH (note-There is not a space between the words irish and beach). On
a new screen, you will be informed that you can not access IRISHBEACH. Elect
to “Join This Group”. A new screen will appear asking for a Yahoo
ID and password. If the person seeking to join already has a Yahoo email
account and just provide the required data. If the person does not have an
email account select “Sign UP”. The new email account will receive update
notices from IRISHBEACH. In several days or sooner, you will be notified via
the Yahoo email account that you are contributing member of the group. Click
the button below and you will automatically arrive at Yahoo Groups.
